What is a Health and Life Coach?

Health & Life Coaches work alongside their clients to help them follow through with their health and life goals, providing support, guidance, accountability, and encouragement along the way.   Health & Life Coaches don’t tell their clients what to do; they believe their clients already hold the answers to the obstacles they face. Their skill lies in knowing the right questions to uncover unhealthy habits and thought patterns that keep their clients stuck.   Health & Life Coaches help their clients discover what they really want and create a plan and action steps to get them there. In other words, they are masters of habit change that facilitate true transformation in clients.    Path to Presence meets with its clients virtually or by phone for a set time over several months, acting as an unbiased observer and identifying any limiting beliefs that could be getting in their client’s way. They then work with their clients to master healthy habits through using a five-step transformational process.

How do I know if coaching is for me?

The only way to know is to try it and that is why I offer a free discovery session so you can test it out.  If it's not for you, there is no obligation to continue.     Having the right fit between a coach and a client is very important to create an environment of trust and openness.  As a coach, I want to ensure I can best support you. If not, I'll do my best to refer you to someone better suited to your needs.

It costs a lot of money to work with a coach; is it worth it?

Many of us who prioritize ourselves and our wellbeing last have a hard time investing in ourselves, especially when it's a lot of money.  In these cases, I like to ask, what is not getting unstuck or healthier costing you right now now or down the road if you continue along your same path?  What's is costing your health?  Your relationships?  Your productivity? Your finances?  This program is designed to deliver breakthroughs and results and thus supports you in becoming a happier, healthier and more present person. And who benefits in your life when you're happier, healthier and more present?  Plus, by investing in ourselves, we’re encouraging ourselves to put in the work.  We can’t do the same thing and expect different results – we have to do the work to expect different results.

Question 4

What is the difference between a Health & Life Coach and a Therapist?

Accepted Answer

Health & Life Coaches and therapists provide counsel, but therapists help their clients work through and resolve past issues and traumas, whereas coaches work with clients on current obstacles and challenges.  A coach's main job is to help clients take results-oriented action to move from being stuck in their lives to being empowered and liberated. Another main difference is that coaches do not analyze, diagnose, or prescribe treatment, while therapists do.
